J Arthur Woodworking is a Charlotte-based custom furniture and design studio built on tradition, craftsmanship, and a deep personal connection to the craft. My journey began in the 1990s, building birdhouses and rocking horses alongside my Papa using his well-worn, secondhand tools. After graduating high school, I rekindled that passion by working shoulder-to-shoulder with my father, and spent a formative summer apprenticing in Boone, NC—honing my skills and expanding on everything my Papa taught me.
Before enlisting in the U.S. Army, woodworking had already become more than a hobby—it was a part of who I was. Over the past decade, that passion has grown into J Arthur Designs, where I create custom, handcrafted furniture rooted in quality, function, and timeless design.
Whether it’s a farmhouse table, a modern piece with clean lines, or something completely unique, each item is thoughtfully made using traditional techniques and sustainably sourced materials. At J Arthur Woodworking, I aim to build more than just furniture—I build pieces that tell stories, carry meaning, and last for generations.
